La Pine Mushing Weekend –
Dryland Fun Run

Saturday, November 11 – Sunday, November 12, 2023

LaPine State Park, LaPine, Oregon

Join us the weekend following Veteran’s Day for early season training and fun.

On-by

Newcomers and veterans are all welcome. Registration required. This is a fun-run with no set schedule. Join other teams on the trail for camaraderie and passing practice. Trails are unpaved dirt/forest roads. Marked loops are of varying distances- choose the distance that is right for you and your team.

An informational meeting and maps will be available on Saturday morning at 7:30am at the Pet Exercise area. This meeting is optional but will be helpful to those unfamiliar with the trails and/or the marking system used for the trails. The Pet Exercise area is the staging area and the start of the marked trails.  The Pet Exercise area is near the South Loop Campground of La Pine State Park.

There will be port-a-potties at the Pet Exercise Area. There is no water at the Pet Exercise Area so please bring what you and your team may need when you run. There is water at the campground.

Camping is available at La Pine State Park. If you camp in the park, please make sure that you keep your dogs leashed, pick up after them and do not run them from the campsite to the Pet Exercise area. Also, if you are using one of the campground cabins that are for rent, do not bring any dogs into any cabin unless it is a “pet friendly” cabin as identified when reserving the cabin.

There is also lodging in the town of La Pine or Bend.

COVID Safety: We strongly recommend that all persons attending be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If you have recently been exposed or have been ill, please get tested before attending.  If you are sick at the time of the event, please don’t attend.

Your registration fee of $10 (per family/team) pays for the port-a-potties and required permits.

There will be a potluck on Saturday at 1pm at the South Loop Campground. Please bring something to share.

The PSDSA Annual Fall meeting will be held at the South Loop Campground at 2:30pm. All are welcome to come and participate.
