Diamond Lake received snow this week so the sled dog race will happen!! Since the wind is preventing much snow to accumulate at the start by the resort, the race will start at the South Diamond Sno-Park at the south end of the lake.It is on the north side of Hwy. 230 (hwy. to Medford), just a few hundred yards from the junction with Hwy. 138 (Diamond Lake Hwy.).You can stay overnight in your rig/trailer/RV there.EVERYONE NEEDS AN OREGON SNO-PARK PERMIT. Both mid-distance classes will be 2 miles shorter, 8-dog 29 miles and 6-dog 13 miles. The rest of the classes will be as advertised. To get teams to the start, they will go up the middle of the parking area.We will have an ATV to help but volunteers will be needed. Also, help on the trail will be needed so if extra people are available, please volunteer. Bring rain gear since the days may get above freezing.
